Civilization fell. What survived became stranger, crueler, and more human. Build a character, find your people, and leave a mark on an evolving Fear The Walking Dead roleplay world.
This is a grounded, slow-burn world where supplies run out, trust is earned, and one choice can redirect an entire season. You are not playing the hero of someone else’s story. You are writing your own.
I
Build a survivor
Create a believable person shaped by loss, work, family, fear, and the compromises they refuse to make.
II
Choose your people
Join a settlement, travel alone, or gather a faction whose ideals may not survive contact with the world.
III
Change the map
Every alliance, death, betrayal, and rescue becomes part of the shared canon and the next chapter.
Known frequencies
Three signals remain.
No faction is clean. No refuge is permanent. Each group offers a different answer to the same question: what deserves to survive?
01
The Breakwater
Dockworkers, medics, and families holding a floodwall settlement together.
Order02
Los Caminantes
A moving convoy that trades medicine, rumors, and passage—never promises.
Freedom03
The Ash Choir
Fire-scarred believers who think the old world must stay buried.

Project Lazarus // recovered archive
The Phronema Outbreak.
The apocalypse did not stem from a supernatural curse or a natural mutation. It began in the cleanrooms of Aethelgard Biologics, a multinational pharmaceutical corporation.
01
The catalyst
Origin of the infection.
01-A
The Objective
Project Lazarus aimed to cure advanced Alzheimer’s and brain death. Researchers engineered a synthetic parasite named Phronema-7.
01-B
The Mechanism
The parasite utilizes bio-electric networks to bridge severed neural pathways, effectively restarting dead brain cells.
01-C
The Failure
During human clinical trials, the parasite mutated. It over-stimulated the amygdala—the brain’s fear and aggression center—while completely dissolving the cerebral cortex responsible for logic, memory, and morality.
01-D
The Escape
Patient Zero was a catatonic military veteran who awoke with unprecedented physical strength, killed three researchers, and escaped into the metropolitan subway system of Seattle.
02
Timeline of the collapse
Three phases. One ending.
Phase 1
The Blind Spot
The parasite has an asymptomatic, airborne incubation period of 14 days. People across the globe breathed in the spores without knowing it. The pathogen spread quietly via international flights, public transit, and major sporting events. Governments tracked a “mild, anomalous flu,” completely missing the true threat.
Phase 2
The Red Shift
The incubation period ended simultaneously for millions. The airborne strain mutated into its active form. On a day known as Crimson Tuesday, 15% of the world’s population suffered acute neurological snaps. Massive waves of unprovoked, cannibalistic violence erupted in major cities simultaneously.
Phase 3
Total Cascading Failure
Emergency services were overwhelmed within 48 hours. Martial law was declared globally, but military bases collapsed from within when the dormant airborne infection activated inside the ranks. Infrastructure gridlock caused power grids to fail, water treatment plants to stop, and global supply chains to shatter.
03
Biology of the infected
Living. Hijacked. Degrading.
Unlike traditional magical undead, the infected are biologically living but neurologically hijacked savages. They do not rot instantly, but suffer rapid physical degradation through self-destructive behavior.
Stage 01
The Twitchers
Status
Freshly infected humans.
Behavior
Their bodies are flooded with adrenaline. Unable to register pain, they exert 100% of their muscle capacity, sprint at full velocity, climb walls, and exhibit animalistic rage.
Weakness
They require oxygen and can bleed out, though they fight through mortal wounds until their blood pressure drops to zero.
Stage 02
The Shamblers
Status
Sustained physical damage and lactic acid buildup has destroyed their muscle tissue.
Behavior
They lose the ability to sprint, reverting to a slow, heavy, aggressive gait. Their eyes rot out, rendering them completely blind.
Compensation
They develop acute, hyper-sensitive hearing and hunt exclusively by sound and vibration.
Stage 03
The Spore Hosts
Status
The Phronema parasite completely hollows out the host’s chest cavity.
Behavior
The host becomes stationary, rooting itself to floors or walls in dark, damp spaces. Fungal-like structures burst from the mouth and chest, releasing fresh airborne Phronema spores into closed environments to infect passing survivors whose immunity has waned.
04
The new world order
Surviving factions.
Three years after the collapse, humanity has fractured into distinct, competing ideological factions trying to rebuild society.
01
The Red Line
The Atlantic Free Zone
Who they are
Surviving remnants of the military, corporate elites from companies like Aethelgard, and government officials.
Base
A massive, heavily fortified wall cutting off the New England peninsula from the rest of the mainland.
Lifestyle
High-tech, authoritarian, and strictly rationed. They use advanced biometric tracking to test citizens daily for the parasite and hunt for a cure by experimenting on captured survivors and infected alike.
02
The Ironmongers
The Rust Cult
Who they are
Industrial workers, miners, and engineers who fled to the deep open-pit mines and abandoned industrial complexes of the Midwest.
Base
Underground subterranean complexes and heavily armored, moving convoy trains.
Lifestyle
They survive by scavenging steel and manufacturing crude, heavy armor. They view the apocalypse as a divine “cleansing of the weak” and reject a cure, preferring to adapt through mechanical ingenuity.
03
Waterborne coalition
The Riverborn Alliance
Who they are
Former maritime workers, coastal citizens, and pacifist survivalists.
Base
Massive flotillas, interconnected river barges, and oil rigs anchored off the coast.
Lifestyle
Because the infected cannot swim efficiently and sink due to tissue density, the water is the safest place on Earth. The Riverborn trade via heavily armed speedboats and live off fish, hydroponics, and desalinated water.
Community protocol
Survive the world. Respect the people.
01
Story before victory
Play to create tension, consequence, and memorable scenes—not to win every encounter.
02
Consent is part of the craft
Communicate out of character before permanent injury, captivity, torture, or character death.
03
Keep knowledge separate
Your survivor only knows what they have reasonably learned in character.
04
No hate, harassment, or exploitation
Bigotry aimed at players, sexual violence, and real-world harassment are not welcome here.
05
Consequences are canon
Actions leave evidence. Staff rulings protect continuity and may permanently change the world.

01The catalyst
Neural cure becomes weapon.
Human trials pushed Phronema-7 into the amygdala, amplifying aggression while dissolving memory, logic, and morality.
